CUTE & PLAYFUL STYLE

PostedNovember 29, 2010
Pros: craftmanship
Cons: the white areas have blue ink run offs.
"I like the playfulness of its style. Im 5'2" and the length hits about an inch above my knees... I have great legs that I like to show off sometimes (lol)...."

Best Origami Skirt Ever....

PostedNovember 15, 2010
Pros: ruffles, origami folds, black & white polka dots
"I am 5'7 tall, 163 lbs. And it fit TTY. Beware tall ladies, this skirt is 2" above the knees. I purchased it in size 12. Normally I hated Polk Dots ... but this kind is a little unique. The ruffles with origami folds really does the road stopper. And it paired perfectly with many blouses & Tee. Perfect for Spring & coming Summer. Wore it to office pool party & everyone gave me a huge compliments..WOWWW!!Thanks Leifsdottir... Can't live without you... YIPPPYYYYY!!"

Love this in navy

PostedNovember 14, 2010
"When I saw this skirt online, I wasn't interested. When I saw it in the store, I had to try it on. I normally wear a size 0, but the 2 fit me better (I'm 5'3" and 110 lbs). Sadly, I left this hanging on the rack because I couldn't think of any top in my wardrobe that would look good with it. I might just have to search for something if this skirt sticks around any longer..."

Beautiful, but too large.

PostedNovember 13, 2010
Pros: excellent design & fabric
Cons: runs large
"This skirt is so cute! The polka dots on the navy version are actually little moons.
HOWEVER, I couldn't keep it because it was too large on me. For reference, I'm 5'1"/100 lbs, and I got the 0."

Perfect Fit When Sized Up!

PostedOctober 5, 2010
Pros: origami style folds, ruffles, polka dots, cotton
Cons: size up, too short, zipper slides down, acetate liner
"This Polka Dotted Leifsdottir that has gone from a Yellow Summer version straight into this Blue Motif (Navy) version for Fall. I found it in Light Blue elsewhere and snatched it up.
INFO: I'm 5' 5.5" tall, weigh approx 125 lbs. 35-27-36. I adore the ruffle details. Initially I thought the price was steep for a cotton skirt with acetate lining. Now that I see the origami style folding, I can appreciate the expense.
SIZING: Reviews suggested sizing up. I crossed my fingers and ordered a 6. Normally I wear a size 4. I was worried because most of my Leifsdottir skirts are too large in size 6. I am so thankful I took the suggestion to heart, because the 6 is a perfect fit.
FIT: The waistline rides low giving some added length. Mine measured in at 16.5". The hem hits about 2 inches above the knee.
FABRIC: The Cotton Poplin was stiff and the ruffles were completely flat and creased from packaging. Thirty minutes of laborious ironing softened the material and smoothed the ruffles. The ruffles and some of the folds tend to flip up from sitting. Before sitting, smooth the back ruffle down.
NOTES: I fully recommend this skirt, but for those no taller than 5'6". If taller, you could add a crinoline slip to increase the length. I have trouble with the zipper staying put. Probably has something to do with a fat roll pushing it down.
Since the Coming and Going Skirt in the Yellow version made it to the Anthro sale section, this Blue Motif version will likely get there too. Eventually."

Amazing skirt

PostedSeptember 28, 2010
"I have this skirt in the sky blue. I'm a 0/2, and I purchased a 2 to accommodate my hips/butt. There is slight waist gappage, but nothing I can't deal with. I'm 5'7 and the length is mid-thigh. Not for those afraid of color."

FANTASTIC skirt

PostedSeptember 27, 2010
"This summer the Coming and Going skirt in yellow was my favorite skirt to wear. It was light and easy, made me feel so girly and pretty, showed my curves in the most flattering way and every single time I wore it, strangers would tell me what a great skirt it was or how they loved my outfit. When the skirt appeared in the navy color on the website, it was a no-brainer for me and I immediately ordered it in a size 2 (I am between a 0 and 2 in skirts). This weekend it finally felt like Fall was in the air and I wore it out in the navy with some tall boots. Again, this skirt gave me the same feel as the yellow did, and I am sure the navy is going to be my go to skirt for the Fall. It is a bit pricey, but worth every penny - in terms of quality, detail, and making one feel like a million dollars! Highly recommend!! And if this ever makes it to sale, it will be a steal at the sale price."

Too cute to resist!

PostedSeptember 5, 2010
Pros: figure flattering, adorable, perfect length to be sexy
Cons: white dots were a little too gray
"I purchased the blue and white. I am petite so I did not have any issue with the size. I purchased the 2 and it fit perfectly. The shape is flattering to the figure. The white however is more gray than white. I don't know if that is because of the dark blue or what. It was a little pricey but once you put it on you will realize it was worth it and will become your fav."

"Not for the bootylicious. I purchased my regular 4 and the fit is perfect. The skirt looked great from the front but not so much from behind. The problem is the top row of ruffles. The ruffle kinda sticks up and lays awkwardly in all the wrong places. It's also a little short for me at 5'8."

Love, love, love this skirt

PostedApril 17, 2010
"This skirt is going to be one of my favorites. The color is a deep yellow gold, and the polka dots are a creamy white, so keep that in mind when finding a shirt to wear with it. It does run a little slim in the hips, usually I wear a 4 but went up to a 6 in this skirt. The material is easy to iron, and overall a real winner."

sooooo sad!

PostedApril 14, 2010
Pros: fit and design
Cons: cool yellow color
"I love Leifsdottir, but I couldn't get this skirt to work. Although it fit me tighter than I would expect (that wouldn't have been a problem- just size up), the color was cooler than I expected. Having seen it online, I was all excited, but I had to leave this on in the store... :("

"I love this skirt. I have not worn it yet but i have tried it on. I usually wear a 0 and that is what I purchase and it fits great! Cannot wait to wear it! It is so different than most skirts you see in the mall and online. details are great! Price was a little high for me but it is worth it!!"

Pros: great pattern and details
Cons: runs slim and small, ribbon on zipper pull
"Yellow, polka dots, ruffles, AND pleats? This skirt is pretty much "adorable" defined. I snatched one up and ordered the moment I saw it, since I knew my nearest stores hadn't gotten it in yet (one never would, since it doesn't get Leifsdottir at all, I'm told) and since I suspected it might not be likely to last long online.
I'm 125 lbs and I usually wear a 4, though because of my curvy shape I size up to a 6 in sheath dresses and slim fitted skirts. With thanks to the first reviewer, I played it safe and ordered an 8 and I'm very glad I did. Thanks to certain, uh, cyclical factors, I've gained a couple water pounds this week and the skirt is riding an inch or two higher than I usually like. But other than that it fits just fine and by next week it will fit perfectly. So I agree, it definitely runs at least a size small.
As for the rest of the design, I LOVE it. The yellow is a nice mustard yellow, bright without being neon or garish, and the polka dots show a slight bit of the yellow through the white, so they end up looking cream rather than bright white. The fabric is a nice light cotton but with the layers of the pleating and the ruffles as well as the full lining, it doesn't feel too thin overall. And I think the angles of the ruffles and pleats help make it flattering, as does the fact that the ruffles can lay fairly flat.
It's a bit short with the waistband resting just below my waist right now; the hem is maybe 3-4" above my knees. (I'm 5'6" for reference.) When it settles a little lower by next week ;) it will end up a couple inches or so above my knee. It is short, but either way it's not a mini, just very fun and flirty and summery.
The only minor thing I don't like about it is that it has a loop of white ribbon attached to the zipper pull. To me it looks like an errant hanger loop, just dangling there at my side, so I'll probably snip that off. But other than that, I'm so happy I got this! I have plans to immediately steam it and wear it this weekend with a simple white top, to let this darling design take center stage. Highly recommended -- get one while you can!"

So fun...yet so tight

PostedApril 8, 2010
"Bravo to Leifsdottir for consistently releasing fun items! This skirt strikes me as young but who can say no to polka dots? I reached for a 10, one size up for me, but this skirt was still very tight around my hips and thighs. And short, hitting me mid-thigh. The quality is there in this piece but the fit is off. I'll wait for sale."

curves unfriendly

PostedApril 1, 2010
Pros: cute design, nice color, good fabric weight for summer
Cons: runs small, not kind to generous bums
"When I saw this in the store, I was intrigued because a) I love yellow b) I love polka dots c) I love ruffles, and d) it's LEIFSDOTTIR! I had high hopes, especially since I'm a big fan of the brand's honeyed peplum skirt. But oooofa, this skirt is NOT kind to gals with generous bums! I typically take a size 6 in bottoms, even with Leifsdottir, but it looked so small on the hanger that I tried it on in a size 8. The waist fit perfectly, but the hips were way too tight. I'd say this skirt runs a size small. The design itself is really funky and the fabric is nice and light, making it perfect for the spring/summer. But the fit just won't work on hip-py ladies. Bummer."
